Project One, Section Four

The organisation Adbusters are a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of the information age. Their aim is to topple existing power structures and forge a major shift way we will live in the 21st century.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Adbusters is a not-for-profit, reader-supported, 120,000-circulation magazine concerned about the erosion of our physical and cultural environments by commercial forces. Their work has been embraced by organizations like Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, has been featured in hundreds of alternative and mainstream newspapers, magazines, and television and radio shows around the world.



They are trying to say that they are going to bit the Advertising by playing their own game. They are going to control all the advertising, and remove them from the face of the earth. They are going to show the advertisement what they are doing to the earth. They will create a new world to live in without a non commercial heart and soul.



They are saying that we live inside the tv. They are telling us to turn off our tv for a day. Saying what will the harm by doing this. On the end of the video they showed a report about what you will miss in a day by turning off your tv, they are persuading people to watch everyday. In other hand Adbusters are saying that you are more committed to the report because you are still have your tv on.

The difference between them is the spoof is showing us what is the harm by that advertisement. And the real one is telling us this is going to make us happy. Not even thinking what is the cost of the global warming, and blaming it on other people.
